Chef Gary Wein (co-founder, 1971):
Catering since 1971, Gary and Harold established Savory Fare in 1981. (Co-founder, Corporate President), head chef, creative culinary director and the "King" are only a few titles which could be used to describe our esteemed leader, affectionately known as "Gary." Brilliant and "tireless" for 40 years, his standards of performance and requirements for culinary excellence have earned him and his staff accolades from culinary professionals and clients alike.
Harold Tharrington (co-founder, 1971):
Catering since 1971, (Co-founder and Corporate Vice President) Harold met Gary while they both worked for the Danziger Oranization in Chapel Hill and joined Gary on a 40 year business partnership. Harold takes great pride in directing operations and providing event food and service managment and site tours. He is also is a key element to all business affairs from billing to customer service.
Ernestine Perry (since 1971):
Gary's longtime friend and special assistant has served thousands of guests at thousands of events all over North Carolina and as an accomplished special assistant to the chef for over four decades. Ernestine is well known for her "can do" perspective and accurate "on-time" performance.
Don "Ho" Wexell (since 1994)
Prior to serving as a chef at Savory Fare, Chef Ho began cooking through the kitchens of the area's best restaurants, from the acclaimed Magnolia Grill to the Crescent Cafe where he was chef de cuisine. He is especially talented in presentation design and directs and produces some of Savory Fare's best work. A champion of kitchen production and performance, his standards of excellence and his expertise ensure visually appealing plated dinners and buffet platters.
Savory Fare has had the honor to serve three presidents: Ford, Carter and Bush and many more of the first ladies and therefore has received Secret Service Clearance to the Presidential Level.
